Adespoto music taverna is an open-air restaurant located in the leafy ruins of a historic Venetian townhouse in the old town of Chania, Crete.
With a view of Chania’s Byzantine city walls, our taverna is just a few steps away from Chania’s famed Venetian Harbour.
We are open all day from 12pm throughout the summer season, from early April until the end of October, with live music every evening.
We serve Greek food focused on traditional Chania and Cretan recipes, including the Cretan version of Greek salad, Dakos (Cretan barley rusks with tomato and myzithra goat cheese), myzithra croquettes, stuffed vine leaves, Cretan snails (cooked in rosemary and vinegar), Sfakia lamb and Cretan “skioufikta” pasta.
We use our own extra virgin olive oil, and cook one or more daily specials using seasonal ingredients.
We also serve local draught beer, local wines and raki.
As one of Chania’s best known and longest established live music restaurants (since 2007), we have live music very evening from 7.30 pm.
A duo on bouzouki and guitar – the traditional Greek “orchestra” – performs melodies from all over Greece, from folk through rembetiko to more contemporary Greek songs.
Open 12 pm-12 am Monday to Saturday from early April till the end of October. On Sundays, we are open from 6 pm during high season.
